Zack in the middle? Not really!

Last week, Rep. Zack Space touted his ranking in the National Journal as “among the most moderate and independent members” of the U.S. House of Representatives. The ranking is based on 92 votes cast in 2009 – 50 on economic issues, 22 on social issues and 20 on foreign policy.

Friends of Buckeye Lake Library planning 5K canal walk

One way to get through these long dreary cold and snowy days is to think ahead towards Spring. We can look at seed catalogs, plan a trip to the beach and best of all, think about getting the boat ready for trips around the lake. The Friends of the Buckeye Library are also doing a bit of dreaming and planning and I want to share our thoughts with you.

Hebron approves new water contract with county

HEBRON – It took a real sharp pencil, but in the end Hebron bested the Village of Buckeye Lake’s efforts to replace Hebron as the bulk water supplier for Licking County’s water system serving Harbor Hills and Lakewood Schools.

HEBRON – Hebron Area Soccer Association is now accepting Spring registrations.
Register by March 15th and receive a $15 discount. In addition, multi-player discounts apply for two or more family members. The league is open to all boys and girls from pre-school to high school. Opening day is Saturday, April 10.

Hunters harvest more than 260,000 deer for first time

COLUMBUS – A total of 261,314 deer were killed during Ohio’s 2009-10 hunting season, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. This season’s total surpasses the 2008-09 record total of 252,017.

Average home sales price continues to climb

COLUMBUS – The Ohio housing market continues to display signs of stabilizing, as it continues to rebound from the challenges it confronted throughout 2009, with sales activity in January nearly matching the month’s results from a year ago, according to statistics provided by the state’s Multiple Listing Services.
