They finnaly shut down the track and built walls to hold the riders in.. It's about dam time. They have known about the issues on this track for well over a year. Still, the track is too fast and the speed needs to be reduced to a maximum of 70 MPH..
They ran a practice run and it turned 85 MPH-- That's too fast.
It's not how fast the rider goes, it's the one with the best time to complete the run without errors.

When one person dies when practicing on the luge track, it throws a BIG RED FLAG that the track is not safe and needs to be closed. They are just going to say OH WELL, one person died, NO BIG DEAL, it's only a human life and we don't even give a dam.
The whole thing was a total waste of human life...
There is no reason to have any exposed steel beams anywhere even close to a track like that.. What the hell are these people thinking, what kind of Drugs are they on?
But they are just going to blame the rider, Why not, he can't speak back to them because he is dead.
I think all people should boycott the Luge altogether because of the Olympic committees lack of responsibility.
The track has been called a death track anyway and it should have been fixed long ago. Duuuuuu.
At the very least it should have a net to keep the riders on the track should they fly out of form.
Maybe we will see more people die and THEN maybe they will do something about it.

Hopefully no one else will have to be killed to get this thing fixed. They have not lowered the speed to a reasonable number yet..

Most people in America will fly or drive to get to their destination. As you know, there are way too many planes in the air and those fuel wasting commercial planes are all outdated. And the high way his overloaded with those fuel wasting SUV's and pickup trucks.. the people that still drive them should be taxed extra for their wasteful use of fuel.

I recently drove 2 hours to visit my Mom for xmass. It's ok to drive a short distance, but I would rather ride a train for that trip. I don't care how fast the train would travel, because the time is usable when you don't have to watch traffic. It would be neat to have internet access on the train so you could use a laptop. Many people would use the time to catch up on some sleep or just sight see along the way.

I really think we need to get back to using trains again like we had many years ago before the cars took over the transportation front. It is sad that many of the rail lines or tracks have been torn up over the years. We sure could use them now. Most of the old trains were electric powered with over-head power lines, but we could do it differently these days with our technology. I am quite sure we could come up with something that would be energy efficient and by using light weight passenger cars would help the cost of operation. A rail line is far cheaper than a road to build.

The state of Ohio is trying to get federal funds to help with a high speed rail system and I am all for it. Once it is in place and people get used to using the train, I am sure the system would be expanded to include more cities and towns. And train stations are much cheaper to build and maintain than airports are. Small towns would just need a platform to make boarding easy for disabled people. The train system would also provide stable employment for lots of people too, which would be great for the state of Ohio.There is no reason that we can't build and maintain the trains right here in Ohio which will provide additional jobs, not to mention maintaining the tracks. I personally think having a job connected with the rail system would be just fine.

Lets hope that the rail system gets funding and is installed quickly.. It will help the future of travel in Ohio.

Anyone that has been following the news has no doubt seen the big deal about the attempted plane bomb.

I am very happy that the guy did not get his device to explode.. because everyone could have died in a crash. The planes are not safe as it is when everything goes right or the way it should. Yes, they have a good record for as many takeoffs and landings they do. Keeping in mind the commercial aircraft are completely worn out and outdated. Personally, I won't get on a commercial aircraft, but I'm happy to fly in a chopper or private plane because they get much better care than any commercial aircraft does.

The TSA has to deal with all the people that just can't get it together to stay in their own town or city.. oh no, they have to fly someplace... Must be nice to have all that extra time and money to through away. These spoiled rotten people are now complaining that they have to be scanned before boarding a plane.. SO WHAT, deal with it or stay home for a change.

If the idiots from across the pond want to blow up planes, then stop flying planes to America from across the pond.
-OR-
put all these people through a thorough inspection just before they walk down the ramp to board. If they don't like it, then they can stay home.

Yes, the US Government is at fault due to the ignorance of the federal agencies not working together.. duuu.. Who pays their salary?? Well, if they can't work hand in hand, then people need to be fired until the word gets out that if you don't work with other agencies that you will loose your job.

Yes, the idiot hypocrite republicants are raising a stink about this, but how quick they forget that their imperialist leader George Bush allowed the 911 false-flag attack on the world trade center and never did anything to stop Cheney 'the actual ruler of America' at the time.

Guess what.. who pays for all this security crap so the spoiled rotten people can fly... You Guessed it, the American taxpayers do.. How many people in this country actually fly.. not many. It's mostly the same addicted crowd and greedy business people using travel for profit.. RAISE the price of the tickets to pay for this stuff.

People are getting ripped off for their gold. Well, that's not the whole story. You most probably are getting about 50 to 60% of it's real value at the current price of gold. However, the price for gold will be going very high in the near future. Don't be in any hurry to give your gold away.

The price of gold will go way up in a the near future due to the bad policies of the US Government.
The US Dollar was a very srtong currency in the past, but those days are gone and the decline of the USA as a currency standard is well underway.
The problem is that the US Government is Invading countries with borrowed money and add Free Trade to that bad practice and you have the DOLLAR going way down in value. The reason why the dollar was a strong currency was due to the manufacturing we HAD in America.. WELL,, that value has been sold to Communist China to benefit the wealthy corporations that control Washington DC, the White House, Congressman and Senators.

If you keep your gold for another year it will be worth twice as much as it is now..

I have seen on tv all the ignorant people running into stores to spend money they don't have to spend..

I see that as very stupid and a misconception on the consumers part. The cheap Communist products that they are buying are 50% over priced on all normal shopping days...
If these people would just stop spending their money on the Communist made products, the prices would go down 50% for all shopping days.

All Communist made products are OVER priced by 50% anyway. That was the reason for Free Trade.
It was enacted by the Congress and Senate to provide additional profits for the greedy corporations.

America needs to move towards a Christmas without all the big spending.. Spend enough to make it nice for the kids and leave it at that. The best gifts are the ones that don't cost a dime.

I go through this constantly with boat owners. They want a mooring cover for their boat, so I make them a perfect cover for MOORING.
what is mooring ? It is when the boat is in the water, tied up at the dock or sitting still on the trailer as in "storage".

When people want a moooring cover, I always ask the people if they will be towing the boat with the cover on and they say NO.
If they say, "sometimes I will tow it" then I make them an "Over The Road Cover" or a "Towing Cover"

So what do they do... Hitch the boat up to their car or truck and tow that mooring cover down the Highway.
Why is that bad ? When you tow your boat down the highway, you are reaching speeds of maybe 60mph.
As a result the mooring cover will sustain damage because it was not made for "over the road use".

You would never have a wind speed or wind pressure of that magnate while mooring, unless you have tornado or hurricane blow by.

A towing cover or over the road cover is made low and tight.
A mooring cover is made tall so the rain will run off easily.

I just had to write a blog post about this after reading several stories about blocking people on Twitter. The people that are advocating the idea that you should never block someone are the people trying to use it for financial gain. You guessed it, they don't want to be blocked, because they want to plant their garbage everywhere with their automated tools. Don't get me wrong about automated tools, but what are they being used for??  Twitter was not meant to be a spam harvesting arena, it was meant to be a place to connect with "people".

I do not see anything wrong with people that have a business of their own that promote them selves and their own product or service to the community as a whole. That is a respectable activity and I am all for it.

But many people are pushing products that are NOT theirs, like the affiliate crap. One of them is some Satellite TV garbage.. When you see a profile that has 1 entry with a link to a website, "BLOCK" them because they are NOT involved in any type of social networking. If people like that are "following you", you should most certainly "BLOCK" them immediately. If everyone in the Twitter community would do that, Twitter will be a much better place to visit.

Some say that it doesn't mater as long as you don't follow them...WRONG. You should BLOCK those people from following you immediately and without hesitation. Why? because when they follow you, they are planting that crap on your page. It's just that simple.

  It takes me a few days to catch on, but I do learn very fast.

As some people may know, Thornville passed a law, regulation or ordinance to fine you if your grass gets over 6" tall.  That may be ok..  I think Thornville should pass a law that FINES you double for cutting the grass when it does not need cutting.. They could call it the "Waste of Gas Law" or "Waste of a Natural Resource Law" or "Neighborhood Menace Law".

I have a neighbor that cuts his grass 4 times a week,, I am not kidding, The guy is a nut and wastes more gas than anyone I have ever seen on the grass cutting obsession. And he is not using some little mower,, nope,, It is one of those overgrown no-turn things which is very noisy and a huge waste of gas.  Where is the fine for that.?
