Fireworks on Buckeye Lake, 2010
I thought I would start a thread about fireworks for this year, just in case we need it.
You can add comments to the event listed on the calendar too.
The people in charge of the fireworks keep saying they need donations, but they have yet to post anything on this web site.. Here is the information..
If you would like to make a tax-deductable donation to the fireworks show,,

I put it on the front page because I was thinking people might want to donate to the fireworks

I wish people wopuld realize what a great asset they have right here on the net. My website is down right now due to health issues but I hope to get it up again. However, my business is still open. I try to put the word out as much as I can about this site. It has been useful and once people realize it is ehre it will be fun to meet new people.
I enjoyed the fireworks last year. We plan to see them again this year.
Thanks for giving us a time and date.
Wondering webmaster..has the buckeye beacon done a story or done anything to promote this site?
Hope to see you on the water and in the field!

I don't think the beacon would promote this site. Someday, when I have more money I will run some ads, but with the economy the way it is, might be a while. Google and twitter have been the most useful so far.
What is up with your web site? Do you need any help to fix it.. glad to lend a hand if I can help.
I have never been to the fireworks at Buckeye Lake. Where is a good place to sit? and should we get there real early? I have always heard great things about this show but never been. Please email me at bug83@rocketmail.com thanks so much for your help. Any tips to enjoying the show would be great.
I was thinking about going to fairfield beach to watch em from out on the point. I will have to drive over there, too far to walk,, yep takin the old furniture pad and some coffee. I might even try some photography or maybe take a video.
I watched from Brooks Beach one year. That was a good place, I thought. The fireworks would be off to the East from Brooks beach point.
The fireworks are about in the middle of the lake, launched from the south shore and can be seen from the rt.79 park or just about anywhere on the shore line as long as you don't have trees blocking. Liebs island wouldn't be as good as brooks beach, too far for my preference.
The only reason to get someplace early would be to enjoy the lake at sunset and parking might be easier depending on where you go. Lots of people in fairfield beach will walk down to the shore and there isn't as much parking as Rt79 or Liebs island.
It is neat being on the shore,, water, boats and all.. watching the fireworks.

Thank you for the offer on the website. my husband had a heart attack in 2008 and a possible second one a month or so ago. Due to missing 3 weeks of work and only income we had to stop the website. After much concideration this will possibly be the last year for our business. Due to finances and health.
As for the beacon they would not run my stories either. hmm. That's ok. I now write for a popular outdoor magazine.
I totally unerstand the finance thing.
We watched for the 1st time last year. I arrived at 9 am at North Shore. We spent the whole day there and I fished right into the night and caught a nice catfish as the foreworks were going off. We had about 20 guests with us and we taught 7 people how to fish that day. Great memories. I have invited many back this year and hoping they come.
The bathroom line was very very long! I could have walked home and been back and not gotten through that line lol.
Great show, great friends, great lake. Hope to see you all there.
The beacon is more self-promotion rather than community oriented and I understand, it is a business that uses the newspaper to make a profit.
This website is for the community, not about money and dosen't have to make any profit. lol, not a good business model, no one would make any money...
no no not a money maker but I define profit by friends and family and not monetary things. I could never be rish I'd be giving it away all the time to those who need it.
This site is a hidden gem. People will see that as time goes on.
I may be missing something as I thought when looking at the Buckeye Lake Historical Societys site, they had July 3rd at 9pm the date for fireworks. This site has them as the July 2nd at 10pm. Please help as I am trying to find a great place to take my mother.
A couple years ago I took her to a small restaurant/bar by Papa Boos. Boos was much too loud for her. We watched at the end of a dock but they were so far away. I'd like to take her again if I can find a closer spot.
Thanks,
Sandy
The date is the 2nd as shown on the Blast web site.
The historical society web site can be wrong at times, because they do not keep things updated. The 3rd was last years date. They may have had the wrong date and could have fixed it.. I just checked it and it shows the 2nd..
Agree, papaboos(club 51) is too far away. It is posible you were at avondale marina or woodys(walts landing).
You would be better off going to the RT 79 State Park in Buckeye Lake if you want to stay on the north side of the lake.
I have read the fireworks display this year will be launched from Pug Island off Fairfield Beach, Is this the same location as last year, as I had a good spot last year @ Fairfield beach?
Pug Island has been the launch pad for quite a few years.. I think they like it because of the central location and it's far enough away from the crowd to make it safe..
I will be over at Fairfield Beach this year too since it's close to my house and I don't have a boat in the lake this year.
I'd, just like to say thank you to those that responded on the fireworks. I didn't have a chance to come back to this site before going on Friday eve. We arrived around 7:00 pm and Fairfield Beach was packed-no parking anywhere. I'm sure people were showing up around 7am not pm as we did. We found a spot a little further back more towards the fire house and short of the really low fireworks had a fantastic view. Afterwards, back on 204 within minutes.
Thanks to any who had a part in these. I've been to Red, White and Boom several times and still feel these I've seen at Buckeye Lake are as beautiful if not better because of the variety.
Sandy

, but the good stuff is up there ^
Do you know when the Buckeye Lake Fireworks are planned for 4th of July 2010?
