Community you might ask ?
The entire community includes people in the area, clubs, organizations, community groups, local business and anyone else that would like to be a part of BuckeyeLake.org. The entire community most certainly includes the boating crowd as well.

The site features User generated content.
User generated content is derived from the items that you and your neighbors write about, blog about, photo galleries, events that you post and advertisements that are submitted. You will be able to submit a letter, article or story and have it published within minutes.

This site is not driven by advertising.
I don't know about most of you, but advertisements don't have to be everywhere, we have enough of that as it is. Businesses and users will have a place to post their ads for free. You will be able to view those listings whenever you want.

The site is on the web so everyone can have access.
However, information about users and members is not shared or sold to any outside parties.  Any person that wants their info removed from the site, just contact the administrator and it will be done immediately. The administrator and site editor live right here on Buckeye Lake and have full control of the server.

We do not send any unwanted emails or spam.
If any member is receiving unwanted email, the administrator needs to hear from you so we can get that fixed.
This web site is meant to benefit people, not bother them.!

Some features include:
• A community calendar to post events, details and directions.
• Create a poll to see what others think on a subject.
• Write a story or a book about your travels or any subject that interests you.
• People that want to advertise something, can do it for free.
• Businesses, churches, real estate agents, bars and restaurants that want to advertise can do it for free.
• Individual user pages for members.(use them for fun, business, clubs or family)
• Forums to talk about any subject.
• Blogs available to members with video capabilities.
• Photo albums or galleries available to members.
• Subscribe to most any content to receive an email when new content is posted.
• Sign up for events and use the signup feature for your events too.(it's like RSVP)
• Create relationships with other members --or-- make new friends.
• Each member has their own guest book available for other members to sign.(optional)
• Members have their own contact form for other members and visitors to contact you.(optional)
• Each member has a private file browser to store photos for blog posts, ads, and stories.
• You can vote on content to show people what you think without posting anything.(it's fun)
• Members earn credits by posting content, voting, filling out polls and other stuff.
        (The credits are used for user levels.)
• Send private messages to members on the site.
• This website supports Gravatars. (see the admin's blog for more info)
• Do you need a private section on the site for your club or organization. (we can do that too)
• We now have access controls that will allow more than one user to edit a page.
        (for businesses, clubs, organizations, friends and families)

• We are planning a chat room on the site.
        (The problem with this is if no one is on the site when you want to chat.)
        We might add it anyway and see if it gets any use.

• Features and functions will be added per request and as more development work is completed.
     If you are a member and need a custom feature, we most probably can do it for you, just ask.

When will the site be all done ?
answer: It's never done.
