Slideshow and privacy for photo galleries

The photo galleries have been through some changes in the last month. It's all good. The galleries had some issues that resulted in the galleries having to be reworked. That is behind us now with only a few little nagging issues to be worked on. There is a bulk upload option that we will add when we start to get more gallery usage.

EDIT: the slideshows are not working.. bummer. I have yet to find the problem. It is some kind of conflict with one of the modules.. The problem is, which module is causing it. hmmmm, we have so many it's going to be hard to find.
The cool new add on is slideshows for the galleries. When you create or edit a gallery, you can choose how the gallery will display. There are 3 slideshow options and the default option. This can be changed at any time by editing your gallery and choosing a different display type.

Privacy for the galleries has been fixed. You have the choice of Public, Password or Private for your gallery. This option is on the gallery create page and can be changed at any time when editing your gallery.

Creating and using the photo galleries

We have a photo gallery in place for all members to have their own galleries.
Keep in mind that all settings can be changed at any time by editing the gallery.

When you create a photo gallery, you can choose where it will display and who can see it.

Create the Gallery so you can add photos to it.
Goto: "Add new content" or "Create content" and choose "Photo Gallery"

  • Name your gallery (required)
     
  • Choose the "visibility" (required).
    Show on the Photo Galleries page and on my Profile page
    (or)
    Show only on my Profile Page
     
  • Add some tags to your gallery such as, Buckeye Lake, My vacation and so on...(optional)
    The tags make the gallery more search-able and show in the gallery tags block.
     
  • Add a description for the gallery if desired. (optional)
     
  • Choose the access type.. Public, Private or Password protected.
    * Public is viewable by everyone
    * Private is viewable only by "you" when logged in.
    * Password is viewable by anyone with the password. (friends, family, co-workers and so on)
     
  • Save the gallery..
    * This will save the basic settings
    * The gallery control page will then load
    * and then you can add photos to the gallery.
     
  • The gallery control page has 4 tabs, View, Manage images, Sort images and Edit.
     

Now add photos to your gallery

  •  Click upload images
    Use the browse buttons and choose and images from your computer.
  • Submit images when you have chosen the first batch. ( you can add as many as you like)
  • After they upload, edit the title(if you like), add image tags(if you like) and add a caption for the image(if you like)
  • Choose the cover image over to the right with a radio button
  • Then Save it.
     
  • Now you can add more images, if you want.(click upload images)
     

Manage images tab

  • Here is where you can edit the captions, add or change image tags, choose a cover or delete an image.
     

Sort Images Tab

  • Here you can drag the images to sort the order, delete some if needed and also choose a cover.
     

Upload Images Tab 

  • This is for adding images
     

Edit Tab

  • This is for editing the main gallery Description, Name, Privacy control and Visibility control.

We are working on more features for the galleries, but have not tested them thoroughly yet.
